Our Story

Kia ora e hoa and welcome to Lunar Belle Gems. My name is Lou, and I'm the creator of Lunar Belle. As a lunar enthusiast based in beautiful Aotearoa (New Zealand,) I'm excited to share my love of all things celestial with you.

I'm just a space nerd who happens to have a knack for making and sourcing jewellery. 

 

This business first started in collaboration with my cousin Janine in 2017. Together we created Identity Gems. Our main focus at the time was handmade crystal jewellery. We produced wire wrapped jewellery, window hangings and earrings. Janine moved to America for love however I decided to continue on. 

It all started with a dream of finding unique, beautiful jewellery that captures the magic of the moon. I started tinkering with different materials, experimenting with designs, and before I knew it, Lunar Belle was born.

I'm passionate about what I do, and I hope it shows in my work. Each piece of jewellery is either carefully crafted or sourced with attention to detail, so you can feel like you're wearing a little piece of the cosmos wherever you go.

I saw that the market for jewellery is pretty saturated. You can go anywhere to buy jewellery... But what makes my business different? 

• Every earring set sold, a $1 donation is made to NZ Women's Refuge, to help support women and have their backs in times of need. Women's right's are very important to me. Women have struggled to have a voice in all aspects of society. Nothing like a bit of female empowerment! 

• Uhhhh our jewellery is cute asf but it's also affordable for everyone! 

You will notice I am pretty approachable and like to have a laugh, that is a theme throughout the brand. Although that may be the case, I am also level headed and honest. So you know you are in safe hands with me. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I hope my passion for all things lunar inspires you, as much as it inspires me!
